Who We Are

Nazarene Way Church is a community devoted to recovering and living out the earliest faith of Jesus the Nazarene (known in Aramaic as Yeshua).

We are committed to following the authentic Way as it was lived by Jesus and His first followers—before it was shaped and expressed through later traditions.

We do not fit neatly into modern religious categories.

Rather than identifying strictly as Christian or Jewish in the contemporary sense, our focus is singular: to follow the faith and teachings of Jesus Himself—the faith once lived by His family, His disciples, and the earliest assembly in Jerusalem.

As the message of Jesus spread beyond its original setting, it came to be expressed through new cultural and theological frameworks.

While we respect this history, we believe that some of these developments moved away from the direct teachings and practices of Jesus and His brother James.

At Nazarene Way Church, we seek to recover that earlier foundation—the way of life they lived, taught, and preserved.

This commitment shapes how we practice our faith today.

We observe the same sacred days that Jesus observed, and we approach later traditions—such as Easter and Christmas—with historical awareness rather than as original expressions of the faith. (At the same time, we recognize that these remain meaningful cultural celebrations for many.)

We practice baptism in living, natural waters, honoring the ancient pattern handed down from John the Baptizer and continued by Jesus and His disciples.

We gather on the Sabbath, following the rhythm of life observed by the earliest followers of the Way.

Our church is based in Southern California, and we welcome all who are sincerely seeking truth—people from every background and walk of life.

Whether you are exploring, questioning, or looking to go deeper in your faith, you are invited to join us in recovering the beliefs, practices, and spirit of Jesus the Nazarene.
